| So starting with last week we officially found a house for next year, fall semester. After class on Monday 02/04 I checked out the Carroll house w all the guys. It was spacious, had lots of parking, had a basement, and was by people we knew. So a few of us went to the Chapel afterwards and debated for 2 hrs in a nursery room on the pros and cons of both the Carroll and Spicer house. I had my small group so I had to leave and I met up with the rest of the group at the Honor's Common room afterwards. Again we debated for over 2 hrs past 1am. Frustratedly, we decided on Carroll, then before we all left Patrick chose 295 Spicer and it became official because of its location, coziness, large porch, and nice kitchen. This weekend was Bible Memory Camp at Camp Buckeye. I brought John along with me and I had 3 8th grade campers whom had been there for previous years; Koby, Tom, and Caleb. We had an intense game of spoons, played dodgeball, Assasin, built pine cars, played CTF, played cards, watched The Jungle Book, tp'ed the young camper's room while they were sleeping, sang songs, didn't get much sleep, played birdy on the perch, and raced our pine cars; which Koby's won, and of course learend about Jesus! Last night when we were going to bed the campers stayed up all night talking amongst eachother and then woke me up to get me to go w them to help them tp the room. But I was so tired I told them 'Be quiet and don't get caught.' They left for a minute w their 3 rolls and came back bc they were too scared. So I got up and had to help them tp which became really fun. After the campers left, we headed out and my car was making a weird sound and for the first time ever I had a flat tire, front right. Luckily John fixed it with the support of a few other counselors who wanted to help. What awesome friends I have. Then I left to get two new tires at Wal-Mart and went to Newgrounds afterwards then back up to Akron.
This is proving to be one of the busiest and most expensive semester I have had yet! I am bombarded w hw. 1 John 4:7 "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God." | | |
| Starting the 3rd week of this semester I am stilling procrastinating from hw. I still need 2 books for classes. I also donated plasma for the first time last week. Last weekend a few of us purchased thongs and wore them to the honeycomb hoping to streak through the house, but it fell through with girls being there. This weekend was Steve and Maria Nuzzo's wedding. Friday I helped set up the Wedding Reception at Our Lady of Peace Catholic School; setting up tables, chairs, vases, candies, sound system, etc. Afterwards we had a small dinner and Steve gave out gifts for the people who helped set up for the wedding. Saturday, Jan 26, Amr, Yasser, and I went went to the Hartville Mennonite Church at 245pm and waited. Pictures were taken, and us ushers got pictures taken with the Groom; Brett, Brian K, Kevin, and myself being ushers. Music started at 5 and the wedding started at 530. After the wedding we went to the reception, ate, danced and helped clean up and said our good byes after all was done with. Sunday I finally cleaned our room, went to 707 with Brian and hanged out at Mikey's for a bit. Tomorrow is our first small group this semester. Should be a fun week. Daniel 10:18-19 "Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength. "Do not be afraid, O man highly esteemed," he said. "Peace! Be strong now; be strong." When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, "Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength." | | |
| So winter break winds down to a halt, and soon begins the spring semester. During the first half of my break I did not do a whole lot. My days at home consisted of waking up past noon, reading some of the bible, cleaning and organizing around the house, and watching a movie late at night by myself. My whole family (grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles, cousins, ect.) celebrated Christmas on the 22nd and just our intermediate family celebrated on the 25th. For Christmas I got a gas card, Akron tee, PC game FEAR, and an Canon SD750 digital camera with a 2 year accidental warranty. After our get together on the 22nd my friend Zach called me to ask if I wanted to go to the bad Christmas sweater party. I was originally invited but did not plan on attending, but I decided to go since there was nothing else to do. We got there and it was alright, smoked my first clove, and at the end of the night I won 2nd place for my ugly red snowman sweater. The biggest and most exciting part of my winter vacation was from Dec 27th to Jan 3rd. I went on CF LA 08 trip down to Florida. I ride the charter bus down and we stayed at a Boy Scouts camp, Tanah Keeta. It was more of a spiritual retreat. We discussed things such as service (we repainted 13 outdoor restrooms/showers on the 28th), fasting (I fasted for the first time from dinner to dinner), prayer/solitude on the 29th, and joy. On the 29th we got to shoot shotguns, both 12 and 22 gauge, and rifles. It was my very first time shooting anything. At the end of the day we went to an outdoor mall called CityPlace. We got ice cream and spent the end of the night dancing to Billy Bones. The next day we went to the Florida Everglades which was sweet. Then on the 31st we went to the Riviera Beach, got a nice tan that day. For New Years Eve we went down to Del Ray Beach and walked around the town and of course, got ice cream. Minutes before midnight we spent our time dancing to the local music acting crazy till the fireworks went off. For the first day in January we spent our day out at Riviera Beach again. The sun wasn’t out as much as it was the day before so a bunch of us decided to just take a bunch of pictures of us in random poses. For our last day in Florida we went to Universal Studios/ Island of Adventures. We stayed in a relatively small group and rode The Cat and the Hat, the Starbellies train ride, The Hulk, The Spiderman ride which was the sweetest, Dueling Dragons which we rode twice, the X-Men ride which we got in trouble for fitting 7 people on the ride, and the Jurassic Park water ride. During lunch I accidently walked into the women’s restroom at the Dinosaur food court. Mikey also found a food bracelet. If someone had this bracelet they could get free food at one of the three food courts. So he tried it inside The Cat and the Hat. Apparently it was a bracelet for a kid under 9, but he came up with the excuse his mom got it which was hilarious. On the 3rd we drove straight up to Akron and got back around midnight. On our drives to and fro we had sang a lot of Baby Shark. With the trip being over with, on the 5th I went to Adam and Johanna Speas wedding. Steve, Kevin and I recorded the wedding for him, I myself being Camera 2. Now the first week of school has finished. I am in for quite a ride. No classes on Friday this semester though! Steven Nuzzo is getting married this Saturday and I am an usher for his wedding woot! | | |
| This past weekend I went to the Intl. dinner at the Chapel with Mikey and Jay and then we watched The Nativity which was really good. Afterwards a bunch of us went to the Honeycomb and played Halo3 all night. Saturday I slept in and in the evening me and Patrick J went to the Singles Christmas Party in Middleburg Heights for 20s, 30s, and 40s with our horribly good looking sweaters. It was a terrible idea. We drove 40 mins and once we got there there was nothing but old people everywhere. We go into the restroom and a kid all dressed up comes in and Pat makes the comment, "Look they brought their kids with them." I nearly lost it. So I looked inside the dining room area and saw nothing but old people, my hopes were shattered. I asked Pat to looked again to confirm what I had seen and we decided to leave. It was quite a funny experience. We decided to get some Panear Bread at some rest stop then we went to his Youth Pastor's place to play a card game and chillax. Sunday I went to 3 of the Chapel's church services which were all the same. I went at 1030am bc I thought my church family would be there, but they called and said they were going to be at the noon service so I stayed for that. Then I went to the Illuminate service bc some friends of mine were going to be there. It was quite tiresome, but I sure got the message, John 1: 4-6. As Monday came around I took Junho out to Amish Country for the morning. We went to Dutch Valley and ate the buffet and drove around the country side to show him around a bit then headed back north to Akron. I also had my final small group and we went to the bowling alley and bowled two games (122, 158). Today, Tues, I had 2 finals; Intro to Painting and Intro to Comp Graphics which weren't bad at all. I also had my Akron Orientation Leader's team meeting from 530-700pm and Jun and Enrique's good bye party. Afterwards I played more Halo3 at the Honeycomb till I had to work at midnight, where I am at right now. Tomorrow I am meeting with my Orientation team at the SU at 2pm and at 630pm I am meeting with my church family before I leave for home sometime this week. Thursday I have CF, and Friday I have my last final. This past week on Tuesday I went on my first ever blind date. We were suppose to meet at the Nervous Dog cafe on Market St past Highland Square, but it was closed so we met at the Caribou Cafe on Market. We met, got some coffee, played checkers and some uno and talked about whatever. It went alright but I don't think I would want to go on another blind date. But it was cool. I signed up for CF's LA 08 for winter vacation from Dec 27-Jan 3. I'm currently reading Ezekiel 25. | | |
| This past weekend was Thanksgiving. Spent most the time at home. Friday I went BlackFriday (very first time ever) shopping with Zach at Target and Best Buy around 6am. I just bought a few DVDs; Ghostbusters 1&2, 300, Man on Fire, 50 First Dates, The Goonies, and Elf. I had to wait in line for 30-40 mintues. Had a second Thanksgiving on Saturday at my aunt Joys and then watched Transformers at Klein's place. Today I found out I got the job position as an Akron Orientation Leader which I am stoked about. The past weekend I spent at Jesse S place and went to church at the Chapel in Green for the morning service. I then went to the 707 evening service with Brian and Melinda. I got a flyer for a singles Christmas party which I pathetically think will be sweet and probably going to. I got 2 other guys to go with me. We are going to wear horrible looking Christmas sweaters. I also won a Transformers Autobot watch off of Ebay which should be here by next week. I am stoked about that too. 11/28/07 I have officially passed 150lbs! Jeremiah 1:19 NKJV "They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you," says the Lord, "to deliver you." | | |
